Plan to join President Gretchen M. Bataille for the fifth annual UNT Beautification Day March 31 by volunteering to be a team leader or a participant.
"Beautification Day depends almost entirely on the assistance of volunteers who are willing to take part of their Saturday and lend a hand to clean up the campus," says Bob Killam, administrative services officer in the Department of Biological Sciences and this year's event coordinator.
Volunteers will gather at 8:30 a.m. March 31 in Parking Lot 9 (near Avenue C and West Mulberry Street). The events will last from 9 a.m. to noon that Saturday. A free lunch including grilled burgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks will take place immediately following the event in the University Union portico.
The first 75 volunteers to arrive will receive a Beautification Day T-shirt.
To sign up to be a team leader, contact Killam at (940) 565-3600 or killam@unt.edu.
Killam says past participants have enjoyed the event, and many come back each year to help keep the campus clean and elegant.
"Beautification Day is a great way for the entire UNT community to work together for the betterment of the campus," he says.
