UNT will present its first Spring Family Day Feb. 17.
The day is designed to provide families of UNT alumni, students, faculty and staff with the opportunity to experience a taste of UNT during the spring semester, and is an addition to the traditional Family Weekend held during the fall semester each year.
"Currently, many of the programs we provide parents occur in the summer and fall," says Melissa Ruud, director of parent programs. "This is one way we can continue to show off our campus to parents and families throughout the year."
On Feb. 17, families can:
- participate in tailgating activities in the Coliseum including a Kid's Fun Zone
- cheer on the Mean Green basketball teams as they take on the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (women play at 5 p.m. and men play at 7:30 p.m.)
- attend several information sessions with topics ranging from current issues facing college students to an overview of the university's new plan for tuition and fees beginning in Fall 2007
- attend A Night of Comedy featuring Vic Henley at 9 p.m.
Family Day packages cost $20 for adults, $17.50 for children and $15 for current UNT students. The packages include lunch, tickets to both the women's and men's basketball games, tickets to see Vic Henley, a T-shirt and entrance to all other Family Day activities, unless otherwise noted.
A downloadable registration form and more information about the event is available at www.unt.edu/parents.
