President Gretchen M. Bataille and UNT and UNT System administrators break ground on the new Business Leadership Building.
After several months of demolition, UNT broke ground on its new Business Leadership Building in December.
The College of Business hosted the groundbreaking ceremony, which featured Chancellor Lee Jackson, UNT President Gretchen M. Bataille, Dean Finley Graves and other honored guests as speakers.
The new 180,000-square-foot building was designed by Polshek Partnership Architects and is expected to achieve at least LEED Gold certification, one of the highest green building standards. The building will accommodate at least 8,000 students. The current business building, was designed to accommodate fewer than 2,000 students.
The new building is expected to open in the summer of 2011.
