Donna Ledgerwood, associate professor in the Department of Management, received the 2012 National Advisor of the Year Award from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

The award recognizes outstanding service and leadership provided by advisors to student chapters of SHRM.

"It is my privilege to serve our UNT students and the DFW business community as our customers. Our UNT-SHRM chapter believes in the philosophy of 'paying it forward,' and all of the DFW area SHRM organizations have supported us in every way," Ledgerwood says.  "This honor is the highlight of my teaching career."

The award was presented at the Society's Annual Student Conference held in June in Atlanta.

"Dr. Ledgerwood is most deserving of this prestigious honor," says Finley Graves, dean of UNT's College of Business. "Her tireless work and dedication to students is an inspiration to those who know her. She epitomizes leadership and is an asset to our college."
