Discover UNT commercial earns Telly Award

UNT's Division of University Relations, Communications and Marketing has been named a Telly Award winner for its "Discover UNT" television commercial. The commercial is part of the university's branding campaign that includes print ads, billboards and radio commercials as well as the TV commercial.

The second commercial in the campaign, "Zillion Opportunities," also earned a Telly Award.

The Telly Award honors outstanding local and regional television commercials and productions, and non-broadcast video productions. More than 13,000 entries were received for this year's competition.

"We're excited to receive such a high honor it's a tribute to the hard work by the whole URCM team and Cold Front Films, our partners in producing the commercial," says Rolando Rivas, director of integrated branding at UNT. "It's gratifying to see the UNT story brought to life in such award-winning fashion."

Last year, the Division of University Relations, Communications and Marketing earned two platinum awards, two gold awards and one honorable mention from the 2008 MarCom Awards, an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication professionals.

The Telly Award is designed and individually cast by the same artisans that craft the Oscar® and Emmy® Awards.
