You have a chance to make a difference for students and the future of UNT!
In fall 2013, UNT began discussion about its reaccreditation process. Reaccreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges takes place every 10 years. One of the requirements is a Quality Enhancement Plan – a plan that allows the university to look forward and focus on initiatives that will impact student learning.
The Quality Enhancement Plan Leadership Team sought topic suggestions for this plan and received 300 responses. They narrowed the topics into clusters that meet reaccreditation requirements. To view these clusters, visit the Tools and Resources page online.
Now it's time for the next phase of the QEP selection process. We need short proposals on topics that will most enhance learning at UNT. Short proposals may address the topics clustered by the team, or they may address other issues, as long as they meet reaccreditation requirements.
Reaccreditation requirements for the QEP include:
- Based on an institutional need, derived from data
- Focused on learning outcomes/student learning environment
- Able to be assessed/have well-defined goals
- Adhere to the university mission
Fill out a short proposal here.
Deadline to fill out a short proposal is Mar. 7, 2014.
Short proposals will be reviewed by the QEP team and those that most fit the accreditation requirements will move on to the next phase – longer proposals.
Where there are synergies or if more than one author has the same idea, the QEP team may encourage them to consider collaborating.
Keep in mind: No good idea will be left behind!
