With the smell of coffee wafting in the air, about 40 students gathered at the Syndicate in the University Union for President Bataille's first Really, let's talk of the spring 2009 session. Answering nearly two dozen questions, President Bataille touched on topics ranging from UNT's "No Smoking" and military policies to its efforts to recycle and promote sustainability.

About 30 students took an afternoon break to spend time with President Bataille at Bruce Hall and ask her about issues that mattered to them. Transportation dominated the discussion as President Bataille listened to concerns about gaps in nighttime bus service. The status of UNT's free speech policy also was a topic of discussion.

Held for the first time at Discovery Park, UNT's 290-acre research park, the hourlong event drew more up to 75 people who gathered at Jazzman's Café and lined the second floor landing. President Bataille fielded more than 20 questions on topics ranging from rising tuition costs to the university's plans for Discovery Park in the first of two sessions held this semester.

About 25 people attended the Bruce Hall forum, asking President Bataille questions that covered a wide range of topics, including decreases in summer and night classes, declining scholarship dollars and UNT's participation in the Sun Belt Conference.
