Adventure Trips

Ready for some adventure? The adventure trips will take participants to the extreme! Transportation, instruction, use of equipment and most meals are included in the trip cost. UNT students, faculty, staff, Rec Center members and their guests are eligible to attend. All trips require a pre-trip meeting. To register, sign up at the Outdoor Pursuits Center in the Pohl Recreation Center by the registration deadline.

Day Canoe (Elm Fork of the Trinity River, Texas)
Cool off on this leisurely canoe trip to the Trinity River. Learn the basics of canoeing down this 7-mile stretch while enjoying the beautiful Texas scenery.

Canoe & Camping (Brazos River, Texas)
Float along the same historic river the conquistadors explored and the Comanche Indians used to hide from the U.S. Cavalry. This two day trip will show you 20 miles of the "Mississippi of Texas."

Learn the basics of beginners hiking on this shady, relaxing 6-mile hike. This day hike will recharge your batteries and give you an excuse to visit the great outdoors.

Day Climb (Lake Mineral Wells State Park, Texas)
Learn the basics of outdoor climbing at the park's famous Penitentiary Hollow climbing area. The area features top rope climbing opportunities on conglomerate rock for all skill levels.
