Governing Documents

The mission, structure, and operations of the Student Government Association are defined by our governing documents.

Student Constitution revised July 19, 2004
The Student Constitution is the basic and defining document of student governance at UNT. Amendments to the Student Constitution must be approved by a vote of the Student Body and all other documents are subjugated to it.

Student Government Association By-laws revised January 26, 2005
The By-laws of the Student Government Association directs specific aspects of the SGA, such as the three branches of the SGA and campus elections. The Student Senate must approve any changes to the By-laws by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote.

Executive Policy Manual currently under constant revision
The Executive Policy Manual governs the policies and procedures of the Executive Branch, including office policies and purchasing guidelines. The Executive Policy Manual may be revised at any time by the Student Body President in consultation with the Executive Staff and the SGA Advisor.
