Schedule of Courses
Fall 2005 SLIS 5000 Introduction to the Information Professions The cohort will meet at the University of Minnesota Law Library September 2-5, 2005 and will receive orientation, instruction, and socialization. Students should be prepared to devote all their time during those four days to the program. The remainder of the instruction for these two courses will be via the Web. Spring 2006 SLIS 5200 Introduction to Information Organization The cohort will meet again at the University of Minnesota Law Library January 13 -16, 2006 and will receive instruction in SLIS 5200. Students should be prepared to devote all their time during those four days to the program. The instruction for SLIS 5300 and the remainder of the instruction for SLIS 5200 will be via the Web. Summer 2006 SLIS 5711 Internet Applications for Information Professionals Both offered entirely via the Web. Fall of 2005 through Summer of 2007 Students will take electives delivered via the Web by UNT and from approved local programs to total 36 semester credit hours. UNT SLIS courses planned to be offered via the Web: SLIS 5080 Research Methods SLIS 5210 Organization of Information Resources I All students must possess Information Technology Knowledge and Skills before starting the program. All students must demonstrate professional practice either through the approval of prior experience or through taking SLIS 5090 Practicum in addition to the 36 hours of coursework. |
