Many of our students select the option to come to Denton and pursue their degree on campus. While we offer a number of our programs of study on the Web or at off-campus sites, there are several which can only be pursued in Denton. Full-time, on campus students have the opportunity to work with SLIS faculty in exciting research and development projects including the Digital Storytelling Project, Digital Image Manager and Z39.50 Interoperability.

Other students pursuing the program full time in Denton have the opportunity to work with faculty in the design and delivery of Web Courses.

Pursuing the Master's as a full-time residential student requires considerable financial commitment and there are several sources of support for the students. The School offers several teaching assistantships, some with medical insurance benefits. In addition, faculty research and development projects also support some of our students. The Graduate School routinely offers a limited number of fellowships based on nominations by the School. Finally, the School offers several scholarships. Most students who are awarded a teaching assistantship, graduate school fellowship, or a SLIS Scholarship of at least $1,000 have out-of-state tuition waived for a year of study.

The UNT Library offers a number of Graduate Library Assistantships that include a waiver of out-of-state tuition and health insurance.

A numbers of students commute from their residences throughout the Metroplex to UNT Denton. To accommodate these students, many Master's Program courses are scheduled in the evenings or on Saturdays.
