 SLIS Village

SLIS Village Welcome Icon     The graduate school experience should be more than an accumulation of classes.  It should be an opportunity to get to know fellow students, to exchange ideas and experiences, to make lifelong professional acquaintances and friends.  Since so many students pursuing the master's do so part time, this side of their program is often slighted.

The School of Library and Information Sciences launched the SLIS Village to provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to enrich the educational experience.  The Village is a service of the Library and Information Sciences Student Association and is administered by a student serving as the Village Manager.SLIS Village Coffee House Icon

The SLIS Village plans to host a series of colloquia each year.

Membership and participation in the SLIS Village is voluntary and available to all SLIS students, faculty, and staff.  To become a member send an email to SLIS Village Manager Jennifer Lafleur at jennifer@unt.edu with a request to be put into the Village.  Please be sure to include your EUID.

Membership is also available to SLIS Alumni Society members.  For more information on how to become an Alumni Society member, please visit http://www.unt.edu/slisalumni/memberinfo.htm
