TYPES OF SURVEYS
The Survey Research Center conducts a variety of surveys for numerous
clients.
- Citizen
- Citizen surveys assess citizen perceptions of local government performance.
Surveys have focused on specific aspects of local government services such
as emergency services, libraries, parks, recreation, solid waste disposal
and recycling. Other surveys have measured the opinions of citizens
who will be affected by new economic development projects, gathered data
for CDBG grants, and information about housing. SRC has mailed or
administered by telephone over 150,000 questionnaires or interviews measuring
citizen satisfaction with local government services.
- Needs Assessment
- Needs assessment surveys assess human service needs at the city and
county levels. These surveys assess needs in the areas of economic
self-sufficiency, children and youth, households and families, health,
and older adults. SRC has mailed or administered by telephone 15,000
questionnaires or interviews in the area of health and needs assessment.
- Health
- SRC has conducted surveys to measure health care, the actual health
of people who live in a specific area or county, and information about
people who have certain diseases such asthma, hypertension and diabetes.
- Customer Satisfaction
- Customer satisfaction surveys measure client and customer attitudes
about staff performance and services provided over time. Over 250,000
questionnaires have been mailed out to measure customer satisfaction on
local, state and national levels.
- Workforce/Careers
- SRC has conducted surveys to track citizens who have received job training/
education through their entry into the workforce and over time.
- Other
- SRC has also conducted other types of surveys including: transportation,
Internet shopping, religion, and awareness of advertising campaigns.
