Ashley Hamer

Born in Eureka, California, Ashley Hamer is a first-year master's student in Jazz Performance at the University of North Texas. She is a saxophonist currently studying under Dr. Brad Leali. Ashley holds a B.M. in Jazz Studies also from the University of North Texas, where she previously studied under Jim Riggs. She is a member of the national women's music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota and was has served as Historian and Program Director for UNT's Iota Theta chapter. She also teaches clarinet at Jesuit Preparatory Academy in Dallas.

Ashley is a teaching assistant for Dr. Chesky's MUAG 1500 Occupational Health: Lessons from Music class and is currently working to update the Texas Center for Music and Medicine website.
