Dr. Anncristine Fjellman-Wiklund

Dr. Anncristine Fjellman-Wiklund (born in Sweden), holds degrees from Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden (Bachelor's in Physiotherapy 1976), and Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden, (Master's in Physiotherapy 1997 and Ph.D. in Physiotherapy 2003).

Currently Dr. Fjellman-Wiklund is a post-doctoral fellow, at the Texas Center of Music & Medicine, College of Music, at the University of North Texas. Her fellowship was funded by the Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research and Muskelfond Norr. She specializes in ergonomics and occupational health, stress-related health and psychosomatics. Her research in the music medicine field has focused on musculoskeletal disorders and physical and psychosocial work factors in musicians and music teachers. She is also teaching body awareness techniques for musicians.

Dr. Fjellman-Wiklund is an ergonomist and physiotherapist at the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, University Hospital of Northern Sweden, Umeå. At Umeå University she teaches graduate and master courses on occupational health and physiotherapy for the Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and courses on ergonomics at Industrial Design, Umeå Institute of Design.

Dr. Fjellman-Wiklund's work has been published in Medical Problems of Performing Artists, International Trumpet Guild Journal, Nordisk Musikkpedagogisk Forskning, International Journal of Occupational & Environmental Health, International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics and, Advances in Physiotherapy. Dr. Fjellman-Wiklund has made presentations on musicians' occupational health at conferences in Australia, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and USA.
