Performing Arts Medicine Clinic
The
Performing Arts Medicine Clinic is supervised by Bernard Rubin,
DO, MPH. Dr. Rubin is a board-certified rheumatologist and co-director
of the Texas Center for Music and Medicine. As such, musculoskeletal
problems are a major focus of research and treatment at the Clinic.
However, the entire faculty of the UNT Health Science Center is
available for consultation and treatment encompassing the gamut
of medical and surgical specialties.
UNT Health Science Center includes the Texas College
of Osteopathic Medicine, the School of Public Health,
the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and a
Physician’s Assistant program. The Clinical Center
trains medical students, PAs, in addition to graduate
students from the UNT College of Music, to recognize
and treat medical problems arising in performing artists.
