What is a Visitor?

A Visitor is defined as anyone who is not enrolled in classes or works for the university, and who is NOT otherwise affiliated with the university in any way. UNT Denton students, staff and faculty are not considered visitors. Visitor permits and visitor spaces are not to be used by students, faculty or staff members of UNT, UNT-D, UNTHSC or UNT System.

I am a visitor to UNT, where can I park?

Visitors have three options: parking garages, meters,  or purchasing a visitor permit.

Parking Garages:
Visitors may park at one of the two public parking garages, Highland Street Garage and Union Circle Garage. Garage parking is 2.00 per hour, or 10.00 per day. Visitors may park in the Highland Street Garage to visit the Parking and Transportation Office; parking in the garage is free for 30 minutes or less

Meters:
Visitors may park at parking meters, which are located on Highland Street and West Sycamore Street. Meter parking is 1.00 per hour, and the meters accept silver coinage.
NOTE: The meters located on Fry Street, North of UNT’s campus, have a one hour time limit, and are not for student use.

Visitor Permit:
Visitors will need a visitor parking permit to park on campus. During normal business hours, visitor permits may be purchased for $5 per day at the Parking Office located in the Highland Street Garage on Central Ave. Our lobby is located on the first floor of the Highland Street Garage on Ave A across from the Business Leadership Building. Visitors may park in the Highland Street Garage to visit the Parking and Transportation Office; parking in the garage is free for 30 minutes or less. After hours, visitor passes may only be obtained at the Sullivant Public Safety Center on Wilshire Street. A Visitor(s) is an individual(s) who are not Students, Faculty, or Staff.

Where can I park with a Visitor Permit?

Visitor permits are allowed in any area designated on the visitor pass. Visitor passes are required for all parking lots except metered spaces and the Parking Garage, where appropriate fees are paid.

Where can I get a Visitor Permit?

During normal business hours, visitor permits may be purchased for $5 per day at the Parking Office located in the Highland Street Garage on Central Ave. Our lobby is located on the first floor of the Highland Street Garage on Ave A across from the Business Leadership Building. What do I do if I am attending a Conference?

Anyone attending a seminar or conference at the university should purchase a conference pass from the Highland Street Garage on Central Ave, or by contacting the conference coordinator at the university. These passes are sold for $5.00 per day, $20.00 per week or $35.00 for two weeks.
