Voice We hear it everyday. A whispered conversation shared in a stolen moment, the shrill cry of a cheering fan, or the reverberations of an impassioned speaker: the collective voice of the University of North Texas. These voices, each unique in its pitch and purpose, meld to become one and the character of a common name takes form. Each of us - students, faculty and staff - bring unique perspectives, experiences and visions shared through daily interactions. An impression of this interchange is assembled for posterity within these pages. The language of every person preserved in its individuality - a collective voice born from the words of many.
Reason That which underlies every spoken word and those left unspoken and forgotten. The purposes of every action and endeavor are unique, specific to each individual participant, yet a singular and sage character emerges. Intentions and dreams, though varied, hint at a growing commonality. The University is both the reason for and embodiment of a shared experience. We set out to record the voices of a student body - diverse, thriving and bold - and to understand the meaning held within. In the end, our personal aspirations gain momentum and fortitude when combined with those of our peers, such that we all seek to discover the power of our ideas. |
