UNT Fine Arts Series

The UNT Fine Arts Series strives to provide a variety of programming to encourage the students and the community to evaluate and discern their own tastes. It is the goal of the series to provide programming that will benefit the UNT and Denton communities through a variety of experiences. Arts are an extremely important aspect of world cultures, and the Fine Arts Series wants our university family and community to experience, understand, and evaluate the programs that we present in the context of their own lives and the global society in which we all live. To allow for greater student exposure to the Arts, the Fine Arts Series offers all of our regularly scheduled programming free to UNT students with a valid ID.

History

The UNT Fine Arts Series enters its 105th season this year. The Series is the oldest continual program on campus charged with presenting a well balanced season of the visual, performing, and literary arts. Welcome, and please peruse the site and take the poll.

Having originated as the "Lyceum Series" in 1903 when North Texas called itself North Texas Normal College the series began presenting performing arts and lectures. The series has grown over the past century while never losing sight of its purpose. In all our endeavors we hope to enrich the students' lives and provide a higher quality of life here at North Texas.
