Michael Bales: September 14–24

Reception: Monday, September 14, 7–9pm
Media: Watercolor

Artwork by Michael Bales

BALES — "My work is often a romanticized version of the people and places around me; there is no other way I would rather record my experiences than with visual language. Utilizing the diversity of watercolor, along with aesthetic design, the figure, complexity of light, strength of color, and a sense of realism, I articulate the story that is my life in terms of expression and emotion...."

Bobby Beam & Emily Penn: September 28–October 8

Reception: Monday, September 28, 7–9pm
Media: Photography

Artwork by Bobby Beam & Emily Penn

BEAM — "...Like walking through a room of mirrors I intend to bring the viewer into a new landscape that approaches and contorts their perspective. Allowing them to question what they know should be there and offering an introduction to this new constantly evolving world that is often over looked."

PENN — "The mind has the freedom to pick and perceive reality in its own way. A camera, however, interprets spatial reality and records it as a 2-dimensional image resembling the actual location...."

Jimmye Elizabeth Kimmey: October 5–23

Outer Union Gallery
Reception: Monday, October 5, 7–9pm
Media: Photography

Artwork by Jimmye Elizabeth Kimmey

KIMMEY — "...there is a physical response to the art that may or may not be self-conscious. More often the response is less open, when the contemplation continues, though the gaze takes an inward direction."

Benjamin Terry: October 12–22

Reception: Monday, October 12, 7–9pm
Media: Drawing, Painting

Artwork by Benjamin Terry

TERRY — "The game for my paintings is to find a point where enough is enough, letting the underdrawing, painting, and negative spaces work together to create a solid image."

Lucas Martell: October 26–November 5

Reception: Monday, October 26, 7–9pm
Media: Watercolor

MARTELL — "...I take serious topics that for me generate resolute perceptions and have decided to play with them to suggestively create a new dialogue for the viewer."

Hilari Oller: November 2–20

Outer Union Gallery
Reception: Monday, November 2, 7–9pm
Media: Printmaking

Artwork by Rene Muhl

Rene Muhl: November 9–19

Reception: Monday, November 9, 7–9pm
Media: Sculpture

Artwork by Rene Muhl

MUHL — "My sculptures are metaphors for the connectedness between men, women, and children. I use various appendages such as cast hands, claws, and ducks feet to create images that incorporate implied or actual movement. Shadows and negative shapes provide another layer of visual interest and interpretation for the viewer."

Angie Eichenberger: November 23–December 17

Reception: Monday, November 23, 7–9pm
Media: Painting

Artwork by Angie Eichenberger

EICHENBERGER — "There are times when a person surrounded by others feels very alone. My paintings have been an attempt to capture those moments, along with some fleeting beauty in the mundane. I wish to capture the scenes that people remember at the end of the day but never really noticed the first time.."
