| The
Union Programs Office, located in the Student Life Suite, Union Level 2 is
the home to Union programming, the Syndicate,
Eagle Entertainment Since 1976, and the University Program Council.
There are four full-time staff, a graduate assistant and numerous student
staff who work through Union Programs. The full-time staff, serve as both
advisors and supervisors for student based programming and work with other
campus-wide programs and events.
The University Program Council, the most recognizable component of the Union Programs Office, is responsible for planning programs to bring all segments of the university community together. The purpose of UPC remains the same today as in 1970 when the programming department was first created, programming which helps accomplish the educational, cultural, social and recreational goals of the Union. UPC functions as both a student organization and as a department of the University Union. As a branch of the Union, an auxiliary enterprise, UPC has the opportunity to generate revenue, though it is not required. If generated, revenue goes into the budget so that more programs can be presented during the year than Union fee subsidy permits. Apply to work on one of UPC's great committees. The Union Programs Office is also involved in campus-wide programming efforts including Homecoming, University Day, Mean Green Blowout and the University Fine Arts Series. Although not the primary Office in charge of these events, the Union Programs Office plays a role planning and implementing these and other major programs on the North Texas campus. All Union Programs and UPC events are posted on the UNT Calendar of Events. Contact me
if you have questions or ideas for programs. This page is maintained by Mary Finley. Send questions or comments about any
Union area to finley@unt.edu.
