DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit)

Students ride DART for free. Travel on DART is paid in full for every semester that the student is enrolled in 12 or more credit hours.

DCTA Commuter Express (Denton County Transportation Authority)

Students can use the express bus service from UNT, Denton and Lewisville to Downtown Dallas, operated by Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA).

Faculty, staff and students who show a UNT identification card when boarding the coaches will ride for free.

The DCTA coaches will begin with three distinct routes:

  • Route 101 will take Denton riders, departing at Cinemark 14 in Denton (2825 Wind River Lane), to several downtown Dallas stops in the morning and offer return rides to the Denton park-and-ride stop in the afternoon.
  • Route 101A will offer morning service from several downtown Dallas sites and DART's North Carrollton Transit Center to UNT, arriving at Highland Avenue and Avenue D. Return fares to Dallas will be offered in the afternoon.
  • Route 102 will take Lewisville riders, departing from the Movies 8 in Lewisville at 420 Oak Bend Blvd., to several stops in downtown Dallas and then offer return service in the afternoons.

Ride sharing

UNT uses the AlterNet Rides service for commuters who travel to Denton.

This site provides a ridesharing service to students whose destination is the Denton Campus.
