The University of North Texas Dallas Campus will begin offering a bachelor's of arts degree in information technology in fall 2008. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas will host an informational session regarding the new degree program during National Engineers Week.
The program will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Room B155 at the UNT Research Park Campus. The session will also be teleconferenced live to the UNT Dallas Campus in Room 222. The Dallas Campus is located at 7300 Houston School Road.
Participants at both locations will be able to interact, ask questions and discuss the program. The event will start with an address by Craig Berry, senior vice president and chief information officer for Siemens PLM Software, a division of Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D). He will discuss “Professions in IT” as well as provide his insights into the new program and the future career prospects for its graduates.
Following Berry’s address, Ryan Garlick and David Keathly, undergraduate advisors for the program, will present the details of the new degree and highlight some of its unique features. The program is the first engineering-based IT program in the State of Texas, and one of only a handful in the entire United States.
