DALLAS – Historically underutilized businesses – those owned by women and minorities – will have the opportunity to register with the State of Texas at a free HUB vendor procurement seminar and expo at the University of North Texas at Dallas from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Nov. 14.
The seminar and expo, presented by the Office of Finance and Administration, will feature topics such as boosting business connections, writing and submitting proposals and becoming certified by the State of Texas as a HUB vendor. These vendors are placed on a Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL) that allows procurement specialists easy access to company information when a bidding process begins.
“The UNT UNT Dallas wants to see more woman- and minority-owned businesses given the opportunity to bid on projects at the Campus and at the future UNT Dallas,” said Maxine Rogers, director of finance and administration. “We are offering on-site application assistance with the State so we can help community businesses access the new market of UNT Dallas.”

The UNT UNT Dallas operates under the authority of the University of North Texas in Denton, the state’s fourth largest university, and is a component institution of the University of North Texas System. The Campus currently offers junior-, senior- and graduate-level courses leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The Campus will become freestanding and open as UNT Dallas, the city’s first and only public university, by 2010.
