New Temporary Offices in place at UNT UNT Dallas
Workers dug trenches, dumped more than 60 cubic yards of dirt and laid pipes to prepare for new temporary office space for the University of North Texas at Dallas.

The groundwork was in preparation for two new modular buildings that were scheduled to be delivered Dec. 29. The buildings will sit on property just north of the current building on campus. The modular buildings contain 16 offices and for the next two years will house 15 employees including the school’s information technology, security, recruitment and facilities offices.
To prepare for the modular buildings, crews extended electrical, water and sewer lines and leveled the ground where the buildings now sit. Furniture is scheduled to be delivered by Jan. 12. The school hopes employees can move into the new offices by mid-January.
The Texas state legislature will consider funding construction of a new 100,000-square-foot building for the campus in its upcoming session. That building, when funded, will be built on the south side of the current 75,000 square foot building.
The UNT UNT Dallas operates under the authority of the University of North Texas in Denton, the state’s fourth largest university, and is a component institution of the University of North Texas System. The Campus currently offers junior-, senior- and graduate-level courses leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The Campus will become freestanding and open as UNT Dallas, the city’s first and only public university, by 2010.
