Special Agent Francisco Turon with the U.S. Department of Education Inspector General’s Office speaks to students at UNT Dallas April 1.
Francisco Turon, special agent with the U.S. Department of Education’s Inspector General’s Office, recruited students at UNT Dallas April 1. Turon visited one of Eric Coleman’s criminal justice classes to recruit students for career openings in the Inspector General’s Dallas district.
Turon told student the Education Department has job opportunities for special agents in Washington, D.C., and area offices throughout the country. Special agents typically investigate large companies and financial organizations that are suspected of defrauding the department of millions of dollars.
Coleman said he invited Turon to his class to make his students aware of other law enforcement career opportunities. “It’s one thing to prepare our students for careers in criminal justice. It’s another thing to help them find a job once they graduate,” Coleman said.
