John Ellis Price is vice chancellor of the University of North Texas System and CEO of the UNT Dallas Campus. As vice chancellor, Price serves as the UNT System's chief spokesman in Dallas for the creation of the UNT at Dallas. He previously served as the KPMG Professor of Taxation and chair of the Department of Accounting at UNT in Denton, professor and dean of the School of Business at Jackson State University, assistant professor of accounting at the University of Southern Mississippi and as an internal revenue agent with the Internal Revenue Service. He also served two terms as a member of the Commissioner's Advisory Group for the IRS.
Price earned a Ph.D. in accounting from UNT in Denton. He received his master’s in accounting and a bachelor of business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a certified public accountant. His research and publication interests are in the areas of tax compliance and administration and accounting education where he has published numerous articles. He is also the co-author of College Accounting. As a member of the faculty of the College of Business Administration at UNT, Price twice received the college's Outstanding Teaching Award. He also received the University's President's Council Award.
Price is a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Taxation Association. He has served as chair of the American Taxation Association's Subcommittee on Relations with the IRS and Treasury. He currently serves as chair of the Minority Initiatives Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Joe Breshears joined the staff in February 2008 and serves as its first executive director of development. He gives direction to all campus development programs, which are designed to generate financial and other forms of support. Previously he served for seven years as executive director of development and general counsel at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. At Southwestern he oversaw all fundraising programs, alumni relations, corporate and foundation development efforts and planned giving programs. As a frequent speaker, guest lecturer and consultant in the area of estate and gift design, Breshears has devoted nearly a decade of time, energy and expertise to help foster a culture of stewardship and generous giving.
After 16 years in private law practice, during which he focused much of his practice on the areas of estate planning and probate law, he served as an associate trust counsel for the Baptist Foundation of Texas where he focused on the strategic design of planned gifts such as charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, and estate gifts. During his tenure at the Baptist Foundation of Texas, the foundation managed in excess of $2 billion in assets for the benefit of its institutional clients and received gifts of more than $50 million, which benefitted a broad range of charitable causes, including higher education, health care, homes for disadvantaged children and retirement centers, among others.
A licensed attorney, Breshears earned a law degree from Baylor University School of Law. He is a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar of Texas, the National Council on Planned Giving, Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Bar Foundation and The Stewardship Alliance.

Peter Johnstone joined the staff as deputy vice chancellor in July 2008. He came to the Dallas Campus from Penn State University’s Abington College in Philadelphia where he was associate dean of academic affairs. Previously he served as professor of criminology, department chair and associate dean in the college of human ecology at East Carolina University and as professor of criminology at Barton College in North Carolina. Before coming to the U.S., he held teaching posts at the University of Northampton and London Guildhall University.
Johnstone earned a doctorate in criminal justice at London Guildhall University. He earned his master of law degree in international criminal law at the University of Sussex. He earned a bachelor’s in legal studies from London Guildhall University.

Horace Stearman joined the staff as director of campus transition & accreditation in March 2009. Previously he served as director of institutional effectiveness at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah. Before that he served as associate director of institutional planning & effectiveness at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He also served in administrative positions at Remington College in Fort Worth and at American Intercontinental University in Houston. Before that he served 10 years as an English instructor at Indiana University, Penn State and Texas A&M Commerce.
Stearman earned a Ph.D. in English from Indiana University. He earned a master’s and a bachelor’s in English from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Gregory Tomlin joined the staff in August 2007 as its first director of marketing, news and information. He oversees all marketing operations, advertising, media relations and publications. He previously was a national correspondent and editorial columnist for Baptist Press, the news agency of the 16.5 million-member Southern Baptist Convention. He has also written editorially for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and other newspapers around the country.
Before that, he was associate director and director of communications and public relations with Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth where he oversaw alumni publications, media relations, and Southwestern News, the institution's award-winning magazine. In 2004 he was a film consultant for the French documentary “A la droite de Dieu”
(“On God’s Right”). Prior to joining the seminary, Tomlin was a corporate writer and co-director of policies and procedures for National Medical Systems in Little Rock, Ark.
Tomlin earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in church history and theology from Southwestern Seminary. He wrote his dissertation on Southern Baptist responses to American military-foreign policy in Vietnam from 1965-73. He has been to Vietnam five times. He received a bachelor’s in history and English from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and also studied at Baylor University's School of Religion. He most recently studied at Boston University's Institute on Culture, Religion and World Affairs.
He enjoys studying and teaching about the intersection of faith and politics. Tomlin taught at Southwestern Seminary and currently teaches for Liberty Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Va. He is a member of the American Society of Church History and the World Affairs Council of Dallas-Fort Worth.

Rosie Wilsman is assistant to the deputy vice chancellor. She joined the staff in 2006 as assistant to the deputy vice provost. She joined UNT in February 2000 as assistant to the director of GEAR UP, a program that worked with low-income middle and high school students to make them aware of college programs and give them the skills and encouragement to succeed in postsecondary education. Prior to that she was an in-home family support specialist with Dallas County Mental Health Mental Retardation and an executive bilingual assistant to the general manager and financial specialist at General Instrument de Jalisco in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Wilsman earned a bachelor’s in business administration from UNT in Denton. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She also earned an associate’s in business studies from Delta College in Michigan. She is married and has a daughter in high school. She is originally from Michigan and misses the change of seasons but not the cold weather. Her hobbies include sewing and photography. She is an animal lover and loves to travel the country and abroad.

Joan McGrath joined the staff in Fall 2008 as administrative assistant in the development, marketing and administration offices. Previously she served as manager of the Tri‐City Animal Shelter and as research assistant at Southwestern Medical Center.
McGrath earned a bachelor’s in animal science from Texas A&M University. She is active in rescuing, fostering and placing dogs and cats. She works closely with the Bureau of Land Management and the Mustang Heritage Foundation to educate people about mustangs and to promote adoption of these horses. She also participates in CFA and TICA cat shows and shoots skeet and trap.

A native of Dallas, Terri Bell joined the staff in April 2005. Her responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of budgeting and financial reporting; tracking and spending authority for budgets of the campus; maintenance of personnel and payroll records; and compliance with campus, university and system procedures.
Previously she was employed for more than 15 years with the local accounting firm Frazier Gills and Associates as managing auditor and consultant. She has a strong background in budgeting, financial statement preparation and governmental compliance standards and regulations.
Bell graduated from UNT in Denton in August 1990. She holds a bachelor's in accounting control systems. She is currently working toward certification as a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs as well as holding past membership with the National Association of Black Accountants.

Fred Dietz joined the staff as the school’s first executive director of admissions and enrollment management in May 2009. Previously he served as executive director of enrollment management and director of admissions at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. Prior to that he served as director of enrollment services and assistant dean of academic affairs at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
In 2004 Dietz also became a project manager and consultant for an institutional marketing, planning and research firm based in Portland, Ore. His 23 years of experience in higher education enrollment management and academic affairs includes jobs with Culver Stockton College in Canton, Mo., and Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla.
Dietz earned a master’s degree in guidance counseling and administration and a bachelor’s in communications and political science from Jacksonville University in Florida.

Njideka “Angie” Alamah joined the staff as a freshman recruitment specialist in 2007. Andrew Arellano serves as student services coordinator for graduate enrollment. He advises graduate students on program options and admissions, coordinates graduate orientation and GRE/GMAT prep courses, and supports program coordinators as they conduct community recruitment and outreach.
Arellano graduated from UNT in Denton in 2006 with a bachelor’s in philosophy and religious studies and a minor in social science. While in college, he served as a student assistant for the philosophy department and the College of Music and also started working at the Dallas Campus. After graduating, he worked with a local educational non-profit doing resource development and fundraising.
Arellano plans to pursue graduate studies at UNT in either public administration or city planning and urban development. He is a member of the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer with the American Diabetes Association. He hopes one day to pursue a teaching career at his alma mater.

Roger Felipe joined the staff as a recruitment specialist in 2005. Previously he served in the UNT GEAR UP Program where he mentored and counseled high school students in Oak Cliff about the importance of earning a college degree. As a recruitment specialist, his focus is on increasing enrollment of nontraditional students, the Latino community and other historically underserved groups.
Felipe's career includes several years of experience in rehabilitation counseling; career counseling; and working with the international, multicultural, and at-risk communities; as well as the agricultural business. He enjoys working with young adults and continues to mentor first generation college students.
A first-generation college student himself, he earned a bachelor of science in agricultural business management from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. After moving to the Dallas area, he earned his master’s in rehabilitation counseling from UNT in Denton.

Michelle Lanham joined the staff in September 2008 as program manager for the Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority’s (ABTPA) Reduce Auto Theft in Texas (RATT) Task Force at the Caruth Police Institute. She has been with the RATT program for 14 years and is a founding member of its staff.
Lanham earned a bachelor’s in public relations, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a licensed Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education instructor, and she is a permanent Certified Crime Prevention Specialist through the Texas Crime Prevention Association. She is a graduate of the Texas Institute of Criminal Justice Studies Part I & II Crime Prevention Practitioners Program and is certified in vehicle crimes apprehension and recognition by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB).
She received the 1997 Texas Crime Prevention Association’s Leland Wood Public Speaking Competition Award. She received the 2003 Texas Association of Vehicle Theft Investigators C.C. Benson Award. She also received the 2007 International Association of Auto Theft Investigators Director’s Award. She has trained approximately 1,200 law enforcement officers statewide in auto theft prevention since RATT’s inception and is the author of numerous ABTPA publications.

A native of Zipaguira, Colombia, Gloria Bahamon joined the staff in February 2003 as director of student services. She was promoted to assistant deputy vice chancellor in January 2009.
Previously she served as director of multicultural affairs and community relations for the UNT in Denton. She also served the school as academic coordinator in the McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program and as a multicultural outreach counselor. Before that, she served at Texas Woman’s University as a Spanish instructor and program coordinator for the bilingual education program and as a translator for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich/Psychological Corporation and Random House publishers. She also teaches Spanish and English as a second language.
Bahamon earned a master’s in education and a bachelor’s in art education and art therapy from the University of New Mexico. She serves on numerous boards and committees including the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education and the Texas “Closing the Gap” Parent Institute Committee. She has received numerous awards including the UNT Community Award, UNT Outstanding Service Award, Leadership Texas Scholarship, Hispanic Friends of UNT Vela Award, UNT Ronald E. McNair Outstanding Service Award, Ronald E. McNair Special Recognition Award and the Denton LULAC Council Outstanding Service Award.

David Porter joined the staff in October 2008 as associate director of marketing, news and information. Previously, he operated his own company trading equities and serving as a public relations consultant for five years. Before that, he spent 11 years with the Southern Baptist Convention in marketing and public relations. He served as director of public relations and adjunct professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth from 1998 to 2003. He also served at Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and at the SBC Home Mission Board in Atlanta. Prior to that, he worked in corporate communications with HealthSouth Rehabilitation and TCBY and in television as a reporter and photographer/editor with CNN and three local TV stations in Texas and Arkansas.
Porter earned a bachelor’s in business marketing and broadcasting from Baylor University. He is a past member and officer of several organizations, including the Religion Communicator’s Council, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Fort Worth Rotary Club, the Baptist Public Relations Association, and the Public Relations Society of America. He has won numerous awards throughout his career and is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Fort Worth.

Demetria George Caston joined the staff in January 2009 as director of development. Previously she served with Uplift Education, a non-profit organization in the Dallas area that operates five public charter school campuses, where she spearheaded a $26.6 million comprehensive campaign for growth and sustainability. Before that she worked at Community Counseling Service, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and Xavier University of Louisiana.
Caston earned a master’s in healthcare management from the University of New Orleans and a bachelor’s in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana. With more than eight years of experience in development, Caston's primary areas of expertise include campaign planning, alumni relations, prospect research, board development, and matching gift programs. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serves on the board of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Dallas, and is first vice president of the Xavier University of La. DFW Alumni Chapter. Previously she served as president of the Houston alumni chapter for XULA. She was named an Outstanding Young Alumna in 2005 by her alma mater.
Her husband, Major Dexter Caston, is currently serving a tour of duty under the Global War on Terrorism in Kirkuk, Iraq. He is a Company Commander for the 490th Civil Affairs Battalion. They have two children.

He previously served as facilities manager for Jones, Lang & Lasalle, project superintendent and project manager of facilities for three TechnoTrim de Mexico plants for Johnson Controls, and as HVAC shop supervisor and EMCS manager for East, Inc. Before that he worked 12 years as a police sergeant for the City of Del Rio. His areas of expertise include residential and commercial air conditioning, construction, mechanical systems, and contract management. He also found time to run his own Enviro-Comfort Air Conditioning and home repair and remodeling businesses in Del Rio.

Wil Clark, director of information technology, was one of the original Dallas Campus employees in December 1999. Previously he served as student computing services manager for academic computing services at UNT in Denton. His experience ranges from technical expertise in computing systems to human factors in computer use.
Clark earned a bachelor’s in computer science from UNT in Denton.

Angela Mosley joined the staff in 2007 as user services coordinator in information technology. Previously she was a computer technologist with Northwood University and a help desk consultant with Southern Methodist University.
Mosley earned a bachelor’s in computer science from Southern Methodist University.
Leora Kemp

Leora Kemp joined the staff as librarian in February 2000. She previously served 12 years as assistant manager and adult services librarian for the Dallas Public Library, nine years as technical services librarian for Texas State Technical Institute in Waco and as library associate at the Willis Library at UNT in Denton.
Kemp earned a master’s in library science from UNT in Denton. She also earned a master’s in religious education from SMU’s Perkins School of Theology and a bachelor’s in English from East Texas State University. She also has an advanced certificate in management of libraries and information agencies. She was part of the team that won the 2008 Best Southwest Bookfest Northeast Texas Library System Library Leadership Award for a Library Synergistic Team. She was listed in the Cambridge Who’s Who 2007-2008 and in Who’s Who of American Women 2006-2007. She is a regular guest in online, graduate library science classes and frequently makes presentations on marketing library services to area librarians and conferences.
Kemp’s hobbies include reading—especially mysteries—and genealogy research.

Police Sergeant Greg Prickett is the UNT Dallas Campus Police Coordinator. He supervises all police and security activities at the Dallas Campus. Prickett previously worked in patrol, criminal investigations, administration, training and parking. He joined the UNT in Denton in 1990 and was assigned to the Dallas Campus in 2004.
Prickett earned his bachelor’s in political science and sociology at the University of the State of New York where he also earned an associate’s in liberal arts. Prickett earned his Master Peace Officer and Police Instructor certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, Officer Standards, and Education.

John Daniels joined the staff full time in 2007. As student activities coordinator, John provides support to student organizations, multicultural programming, academic success, and new student orientation. He enjoys creating programs that help students master skills, overcome their fears, and believe in themselves. Previously he served as a church pastor for 16 years before going back to school to earn a master’s in counseling. From that experience he brings a sensitivity to the many ways people search for and create meaning in life.
Daniels earned a master of divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Mich., in 1990 and a master’s in counseling from UNT in Denton in 2008. He is a published author and hopes one day to be a counselor educator. He lives in Garland with his wife, three children, two dogs, and a parrot.

Jessica Recht joined the staff as student services coordinator in June 2008. Her responsibilities include career and personal counseling for students, setting up career fairs, helping students with employability skills (resumes, interviews, cover letters, etc) and internships. She has experience counseling people of diverse backgrounds on a variety of topics in the nonprofit sector and in private practice. She is excited about helping students with career development and transitioning into new jobs after graduation.
Recht earned a master’s in counseling from UNT in Denton and a bachelor’s in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.

Laura Trahan Smith joined the staff in March 2004 as student development coordinator. She works on a variety of student support issues such as new student orientation, disability accommodations, counseling and career services. Previously she served as Rising Star Advisor at El Centro Community College District. She also served as an associate appraiser for American Appraisal Associates and as an admission counselor for Southern Methodist University.
Smith earned a master’s in counseling from UNT in Denton and a bachelor’s in psychology from Southern Methodist University. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and is a National Certified Counselor Licensed Professional Counselor and is an intern member of the Association of Higher Education and Disabilities.

Andrew Arellano serves as student services coordinator for graduate enrollment. He advises graduate students on program options and admissions, coordinates graduate orientation and GRE/GMAT prep courses, and supports program coordinators as they conduct community recruitment and outreach.
Arellano graduated from UNT in Denton in 2006 with a bachelor’s in philosophy and religious studies and a minor in social science. While in college, he served as a student assistant for the philosophy department and the College of Music and also started working at the Dallas Campus. After graduating, he worked with a local educational non‐profit doing resource development and fundraising.
Arellano plans to pursue graduate studies at UNT in either public administration or city planning and urban development. He is a member of the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer with the American Diabetes Association. He hopes one day to pursue a teaching career at his alma mater.

Katrina Cornish serves as student account and registrar coordinator in Student Services. She joined the staff in June 2003. Previously she served as a student assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Cornish earned a bachelor’s in business administration in management information system from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is currently working toward a master’s in higher education administration on the student affairs track. She is an alumna of the Emmitt J. Conrad Leadership Program.

Rickey Eddie, financial aid and scholarship manager, was one of the original Dallas Campus employees in December 1999. He previously served more than 16 years with the Dallas County Community College District and for three years with Paul Quinn College. He has a strong background in financial aid and scholarships, business services, student services and academic/career counseling.
Eddie earned a bachelor of arts from Paul Quinn College and an associate’s in business administration from El Centro Community College. He has served on numerous committees and boards involving students.

Veronica Ewing joined the staff in March 2004 as a student assistant employee. She became a full‐time staff member in October 2005 and is now a student services representative. Previously she participated in AmeriCorps for two years. She served one year as a high school tutor and mentor and as a Red Cross volunteer for the second year.
Ewing entered the UNT Dallas Campus in Fall 2004 and graduated with a bachelor’s in rehabilitation studies and a minor in human services. She earned an associate’s degree from Tarrant County Community College with a certificate in social work. She is a member of the staff development task force.
