Mission Statement

The mission of the UNT Volunteer Center is to foster a lifelong commitment to civic responsibility among University of North Texas student; strengthen university-community relations; and to provide educational and leadership opportunities for active learning through a collaboration with students, faculty, and campus organizations.

The effort made through this mission relates to the University mission by emphasizing the importance of instilling in students, faculty, and staff a lifelong ethic of civic leadership and responsibility coupled with the learning that comes through reflection about their experiences. It is at that intersection of volunteerism, civic leadership, and responsibility that powerful neighborhoods of which the University is a member come together to address current social issues and problems in a systematic and collaborative way.
