Make a Difference Day — Saturday, October 24, 2009, 8:00am–12:00pm
Join hundreds of students in making a difference in the local community through Make a Difference Day! Volunteers will meet at Shrader Pavilion for registration, breakfast, t-shirts and a kick-off celebration and leave to volunteer throughout the community with the environment, youth, homelessness, seniors and more. Volunteers are encouraged to register by October 9, 2009. The organization with the most participants is eligible for an award of $250. Individuals are also encouraged to submit their story of service — the most compelling story is eligible for a $250 award (due October 9).
This event is a signature event of the MLK Year of Service and is sponsored by the Center for Leadership & Service, Division of Institutional Equity and Diversity and the College of Public Affairs and Community Service.
