University of
North Texas

The information in this handbook is largely a summary of university organization, policy, procedures, and to an extent, tradition. Policies are merely mentioned along with a reference to a policy number in the UNT Policy Manual. Each academic department and each school and college has a copy of the policy manual as do the Faculty Senate, the Willis Library, and the University Planning Office. The volumes at the latter three sites always are kept up to date. In addition, the UNT Policy Manual is also available on the web. The URL address is http://www.unt.edu/policy/UNT_policy/.

It is the policy of the University of North Texas not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, national origin, disability (where reasonable accommodation can be made), disabled veteran status or veteran of the Vietnam Era status in its educational programs, activities, admission or employment policies. In addition to complying with federal and state equal opportunity laws and regulations, the university through its diversity policy declares harassment based on individual differences (including sexual orientation) inconsistent with its mission and educational goals. Direct questions or concerns to the Office of Equity and Diversity, (940) 565-2456, or the dean of students, (940) 565-2648. TDD access: (800) 735-2989.
