UNT faculty members enjoy a large measure of participation in the governance of the university including membership on a variety of standing and  ad hoc committees, and on special task forces and study groups.

The lists below include major university standing committees and councils. They have been divided into two groups: (1) Faculty Senate Committees (including standing committees created by the Faculty Senate Bylaws and ad hoc Committees created by the Faculty Senate) and (2) other committees created by university policies or by administrative order.

Names of current members of many committees can be obtained from the Faculty Senate Office (phone 2053) or from the Senate web site: http://www.unt.edu/facsenate.  The bylaws governing structure and function of Faculty Senate Committees can also be found on the Senate web site: http://www.unt.edu/facsenate/bylaws.htm.
