Internal Research Grants and Fellowships
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research administers the Faculty Research Fund, which provides support for individual faculty research projects, scholarship, and creative works. The Faculty Research Committee, elected by the Faculty Senate and chaired by the Vice Provost for Research, reviews proposals and awards grants and fellowships on an annual cycle. The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs provides additional internal resources. Information on internal grants, fellowships, and other resources may be obtained through the Internet from the web site of the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) by accessing the UNT home page and clicking on research under ACADEMICS.
The Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OPSA) is responsible for official university endorsement of proposals, negotiation and acceptance of awards, and liaison with other university units involved in grants administration such as grant accounting. The office also assists faculty and staff members in locating funding sources, proposal development, contract development and liaison with legal affairs, federal and state compliance issues (such as human subjects research), and transmittal of proposals to funding agencies. Post-award grant accounting is handled by the Office of Grant Accounting (OGA), which is located in the same office suite as OPSA. Specific information may be obtained from the web site of the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) by accessing the UNT home page and clicking on research under ACADEMICS.
