Live on campus
UNT offers 14 residence halls, each with its own personality. Dorm life allows you to hang out with other students, have your meals in a vegan dining hall or roll out of bed 10 minutes before class if you like. You can opt for a living-learning community with a focus on global learning, jazz, arts and design, business, journalism, health and wellness or other areas. Studies show that students who live on campus maximize their college experience.
Go green
If you're eco-conscious, consider living in Crumley Hall — the first residential building in Texas to earn the EPA Energy Star for its environmental efficiency. Crumley is UNT's only all-female residence hall.
Become a leader
Eagle Leadership Programs provide conferences, classes, workshops and services that help you grow as a leader and gain crucial skills for today's job market.
Fit in
Get the most out of college by getting involved. There are many opportunities to take advantage of at UNT. You can have a traditional college experience or find your niche with others who share your passions or interests, no matter how esoteric.
Join a group
We offer more than 400 student organizations, including:
- Academic and honors associations
- Fraternities and sororities
- Multicultural and political groups
- Service and religious/spiritual societies
- Spirit and special interest organizations
- Recreational sports teams
- A student newspaper, radio station and cable TV station
"There's so much to do here."
Get the whole experience
For many, intercollegiate athletics is essential to the university experience. NCAA Division I football and 12 other men's and women's sports provide excitement and build affinity. In 2010 UNT won the conference championship and played in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. A brand new football stadium provides the ultimate game day experience.
All that jazz — and more
About 1,000 concerts a year are presented by UNT's world-renowned College of Music. You can enjoy music of all kinds, but we're famous for jazz — the One O'Clock Lab Band was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Lab 2009. Art exhibits, theatre and dance performances, films and other activities also abound. If you're an active person, you can join an intramural sports team, pump iron at the rec center and challenge yourself with adventure trips (and equipment rentals) at our Outdoor Pursuits Center.
