Conclusions from the Study
Evolutionary standards
- The maturity level of a standards effort is related to the extent to which ill–defined problems can be transformed into well–defined problems and technical solutions to the problems can be agreed upon.
Relevant environment
- A relevant environment narrowly delimited may exclude potentially important entities and forces from the broader socio–technical environment. This situation limits such things as inputs, technical knowledge, participants, and stakeholders that could improve the output of the standards work.
