Contributions
UNT and
SLIS are demonstrating their support for this project by contributing
matching funds and resources. UNT will waive 18% of the negotiated federal
rate for indirect costs (46%) and SLIS will provide two semesters of
course release for the Principal Investigator (20% effort for each semester).
SLIS will also provide workspace for the project in its new Texas Center
for Digital Knowledge. UNT and SLIS will allocate $8,568 for purchase
of hardware to be used by the research team. UNT will host the project
website. (See Appendix F: Letters in Support of the Proposal.)
Two organizations
are contributing software, data, and staff resources in support of the
project. SIRSI Corporation has agreed to supply the software to establish
the first reference implementation for the testbed. In addition, SIRSI
has agreed to provide the research team with training on the use of
their system. It is estimating its contribution in excess of $105,000.
OCLC has agreed to contribute a test data set of approximately 100,000
to 500,000 bibliographic records. They have also agreed to supply software
as well as staff resources to assist the research team in creating and
analyzing the test data set. OCLC has also indicated it will supply
software for the second reference implementation. It is estimating its
contribution at approximately $80,000. (See Appendix F: Letters in Support
of the Proposal.)
The Texas
State Library, a SIRSI site, has agreed to serve as host for the first
reference implementation for the testbed (see Appendix F: Letters in
Support of the Proposal).
