Project Deliverables

The project will result in the following deliverables:

  • At least two trusted and operational reference implementations of Z39.50 clients and servers for use in interoperability testing
  • A reliable and valid testbed with documented procedures and methodologies, including a test database, documented test scenarios, and validated metrics
  • A training manual for the testbed so others may duplicate the testbed approach developed in the project
  • A best practices guide for configuring, operating, and assessing Z39.50 products to improve information search and retrieval
  • Periodic progress reports (every 6 months) on the project that will be publicly available
  • Final report to IMLS documenting the achievements of the project and identifying future related research and demonstration activities.

In addition, the researchers will disseminate project findings and results in the professional and scholarly literature, presentation at conferences, and on the project website.
