zlot project special meeting
December 16 & 17, 2002

As a vendor who provided the ZLOT Project a proof-of-concept prototype for the Search and Retrieval Interface Application, we are offering you an opportunity to set up a demonstration of the prototype and other products. We hope the following information will assist you in making plans for the meeting and your demonstration. The ZLOT staff will work you in the coming weeks to make sure you have the needed equipment, space, etc. for your demonstrations.

When

The demonstration time is Monday, December 16th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. The general sessions will end at 5:00 p.m. Meeting participants will move from the meeting to the location of the demonstrations.

Where

The demonstrations will be set up in the School of Library and Information Sciences. The School is located on the second floor of the Information Sciences Building, which is approximately in the center of campus. It is about a 10 minute walk from the UNT Gateway Center (where the general meeting sessions are held) to the School. 

Computers

You are encouraged to bring your own laptop or desktop computer. However, you may use one of our computers. We have both Windows 2000 and Linux platforms available. We can also provide a 17” monitor to connect to your laptop. Requests for use of ZLOT computers and/or monitors need to be received by Monday, December 9. Send request to: wemoen@unt.edu

Network Connection (Updated 12/5/02)

A high-speed Internet connection will be available for your demonstration. IP addresses for connecting your laptop to our LAN have been sent to each vendor via email. Additional network configuration information (i.e., IP gateway port, subnet mask, primary and secondary DNS) will be available at the demonstration site during setup.  

Setup (Updated 12/5/02)

Each vendor will be provided a 3' x 6' table for setting up the computer/laptop for demonstrations. You are welcome to setup and test your demonstration between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday morning.

Projection Equipment

We will not be able to provide projection equipment in the demonstration area.

Snacks

We will provide wine and cheese for meeting participants from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Hopefully this will make the demonstration time a nice opportunity for interaction among the participants, the vendors, and the ZLOT staff.
