zlot project special meeting
December 16 & 17, 2002

During the second session on Monday, December 16th, there will be a discussion entitled 'Key Issues for Resource Discovery Services'. Each of the vendors who participated in any part of the ZLOT Project proof-of-concept demonstration will be asked to give their perspective on the major challenges and opportunities involved in implementing a resource discovery service such as the service envisioned by the Library of Texas.

This is a 90 minute session and we want to encourage discussion among the meeting participants. Therefore, we invite you to prepare a short presentation of no more than 5 minutes in which you describe key challenges and opportunities.

Guidelines

  • Each vendor will have 5 minutes to present
  • A podium and microphone will be available
  • PowerPoint presentations listing key points should be limited to two slides (due to ZLOT staff by December 12)
  • ZLOT staff will load any presentations in advance on the meeting computer
  • Questions from the audience will only be taken after all vendors have spoken

Please focus your comments on strategic and tactical challenges and opportunities. This session is a 'non-sales pitch' session. We appreciate your consideration of this in preparing your presentation.

If you plan to do a 2-slide powerpoint presentation, send the file by Thursday, December 12, to: wemoen@unt.edu

You are encouraged to develop a handout that can be used in conjunction with your presentation. We will be happy to distribute these during the session.

Please call 940-565-3563.
