More on R: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.  First SPSS recognized what it does better by including an addon in version 16 that allowed one to use R code within SPSS syntax.  Now SAS has joined the game, which is most amusing after embarrassing comments made by their publicist (who since backtracked, poorly in my opinion, on her corporate blog).  Follow up from the original here.
