Spreadsheet methods are used to evaluate the following</course-title-1><course-description-1>deterministic models, allocation problems, linear programming, sequencing and scheduling and network models.</course-description-1><course-title-2>Enterprise Applications of Business Intelligence/Analytics (3 hrs)</course-title-2><course-description-2>Current issues in the utilization of business intelligence/analytics (BI/A) in organizations. Topics include the concepts, methodologies and tools to efficiently and effectively implement BI/A endeavors. The focus is on understanding how BI/A is needed and used in organizations today and how to resolve the often conflicting variety of BI/A offerings.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Modeling for Business Intelligence (3 hrs)</course-title-3><course-description-3>How modeling for business intelligence systems can be utilized as a key element within a managerial decision process. Attention is paid to how and why such a model is used in a BI support system environment.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Introduction to Data Mining (3 hrs)</course-title-4><course-description-4>Knowledge discovery in large databases, using data mining tools and techniques. Topics include data exploration, modeling and model evaluation. Decision making in a case-embedded business environment is emphasized.</course-description-4><course-title-5>Analytics for Decision Making (3 hrs)</course-title-5><course-description-5>Study of the analytics that underlie the process of decision making and the information requirements of decisions; decision support tool selection, process improvement and applications development.</course-description-5><course-title-6>Introduction to Data Warehousing (3 hrs)</course-title-6><course-description-6>Investigates model-based approaches to the design of data warehouses.
