Students awarded the Master of Science with a major in accounting are simultaneously awarded the Bachelor of Science with a major in accounting. </ul></program-highlights-1><program-highlights-2>The combined B.S./M.S. program allows you to earn two degrees simultaneously, and it meets the 150-hour requirement for the Certified Public Accountant exam in Texas and many other states. </ul></career-outlook><courses-label/><course-title-1>Accounting Principles I - Financial Accounting (3 hrs.):</course-title-1><course-description-1>External uses of accounting information; interpretation of accounting data; analysis of financial statements; income and cash flow analysis; nature of assets and liabilities; understanding accounting reporting process.</course-description-1><course-title-2>Data Analysis with Spreadsheets (3 hrs.):</course-title-2><course-description-2>Collection, description and analysis of numerical data. Data presentation, tables, charts and graphs, descriptive statistics, analysis of time series and index numbers, sampling techniques and distributions, estimation, confidence intervals, with applications in quality control and productivity.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Business Calculus (3 hrs.):</course-title-3><course-description-3>Differential and integral calculus with emphasis on applications to business.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Introduction to Data Mining (3 hrs.):</course-title-4><course-description-4>Knowledge discovery in large databases, using data mining tools and techniques. Topics include data exploration, modeling and model evaluation.
