<p>This program takes a Family Science approach and considers the 10 content areas of <a href="https://www.ncfr.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NCFR’s</a> Family Life Education with the option of becoming a <a href="https://www.ncfr.org/cfle-certification/what-family-life-education" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Certified Family Life Educator</a>.</p></why-earn-this><this-program-will-teach-you-label/><this-program-will-teach-you><ul>

</ul></career-outlook><courses-label/><course-title-1>Foundations of Educational Research Methodology (3 hrs)</course-title-1><course-description-1>Overview of the process of conducting research, from formulating research questions to sampling, data collection, analysis and drawing inferences. The main focus is on being able to understand, evaluate and utilize published research, both qualitative and quantitative. Final product is a detailed critique of published research.</course-description-1><course-title-2>Introduction to Program Evaluation (3 hrs)</course-title-2><course-description-2>Introduction to program evaluation and practice as an essential component in designing and sustaining effective programs. Role of evaluators in providing key information to stakeholders such as policy makers, school officials and program directors is explored. Topics include the information-gathering process, decision-making related to funding and continuing programs, and ethical implications and impacts of evaluation.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Grant Proposal Writing Techniques (3 hrs)</course-title-3><course-description-3>Investigation of state and federal grant funding sources. Introduction to and application of grant proposal writing techniques.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Family Relationships (3 hrs)</course-title-4><course-description-4>Analysis of the influences that affect modern family life; consideration of variant family forms.</course-description-4><course-title-5>Family Law and Policy (3 hrs)</course-title-5><course-description-5>Laws and policies affecting families.
