<p>Many of our students pursue graduate opportunities in exercise physiology or sports psychology.</p></career-outlook><courses-label/><course-title-1>Psychology of Sport (3 hrs)</course-title-1><course-description-1>Survey of the literature concerning the relationship of psychological processes and motor performance. Topics include motivation, communication, anxiety management, youth sports, concentration, confidence and group dynamics.</course-description-1><course-title-2>Physiological Bases of Exercise and Sport (3 hrs)</course-title-2><course-description-2>Applied physiology course of study including bioenergetics, neuromuscular factors, and cardiovascular and pulmonary dynamics during exercise. Emphasis is placed on acute and chronic responses of human physiology to exercise stress.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Introduction to Kinesiology (3 hrs)</course-title-3><course-description-3>Survey of the foundations underlying the scientific basis of kinesiology. Units include curricula, historical, philosophical, sociological, psychological, physiological, biomechanical, pedagogical and motor behavioral components essential to the study of kinesiology. Students are introduced to the skills and knowledge required to become a successful practitioner, researcher or teacher in the psychomotor domain. Students are expected to complete this course prior to enrolling in kinesiology core courses.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Biomechanics (3 hrs)</course-title-4><course-description-4>The analysis of efficient movement through a study of mechanical and anatomical principles and their application to human movement.</course-description-4><course-title-5>Movement for Individuals with Disabilities (3 hrs)</course-title-5><course-description-5>Comprehensive practical approach to conducting physical activity programs for individuals with disabilities.
