Topics include: ethics in business and ethical decision making, corporate social responsibility and corporate citizenship, and stakeholder management, including shareholders, employees, customers, the community, government, and the environment.</span></course-description-1><course-title-2>Music Business and Entrepreneurship (3 hrs)</course-title-2><course-description-2>Provides students with a hands-on experience in planning and launching a musical venture. Upon completion, students will have compiled a professional portfolio, created or improved their own web sites, and will have implemented a plan of action for a music business plan based on their specific interests and needs. Students may also be referred to other UNT faculty and alumni for more information and potential networking opportunities to support their ventures. Through readings, lectures, case studies, assignments, classroom and guest presentations, students become acquainted with the entrepreneurial strategies and diverse trends used to embark in professional music careers.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Music Leadership and Performing Arts Management (3 hrs)</course-title-3><course-description-3>Provides students with the tools and resources to create, develop, facilitate, and evaluate performing arts organizations. Also covers music leadership techniques and examples to effectively lead an arts organization.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Music Entrepreneurship Practicum/Internship (1-3 hrs)</course-title-4><course-description-4>Practicum with an arts organization, music business or other relevant institution as approved by area coordinator in music entrepreneurship.</course-description-4><course-title-5>Music Law and Finance (3 hrs)</course-title-5><course-description-5>Topics include basics of music law, music copyright issues, contract negotiation, funding opportunities, and financial management for music business and entrepreneurship.</course-description-5><course-title-6>Financial Management (3 hrs)</course-title-6><course-description-6><span>Tools and techniques used and proposed in corporate financial management.
