Includes examination of the intersection of disability with various racial/ethnic groups and other identities along with ways to work with complex diverse populations. ​This course is offered on-line and will require various synchronous meetings online during the semester.</course-description-1><course-title-2>Employment and Career Development (3 hrs)</course-title-2><course-description-2>Involves the investigation and study of theories and other practices associated with successful job placement activities. Includes transferable skills analysis, labor market analysis, job seeking skills training, employer identification, management of a job development campaign, as well as supported employment strategies. Technology related to these areas is explored.</course-description-2><course-title-3>Rehabilitation Counseling Theories (3 hrs)</course-title-3><course-description-3>Includes the study of major counseling theories and modalities with focus on principles and approaches relevant to rehabilitation counseling and supervision. Covers applications required in counseling people with physical, cognitive or emotional disabilities.</course-description-3><course-title-4>Rehabilitation Counseling Applications (3 hrs)</course-title-4><course-description-4>Includes the study and application of the counseling process, strategies and techniques used by rehabilitation counselors. Students develop generic counseling skills applicable to work across a spectrum of rehabilitation counseling settings.</course-description-4><course-title-5>Professional Issues in Case Management (3hrs)</course-title-5><course-description-5>Covers professional, ethical and legal principles that guide the practice of case management in the field of rehabilitation counseling.</course-description-5><course-title-6>Ethical and Professional Foundations in Rehabilitation Counseling (3 hrs)</course-title-6><course-description-6>Introduction to rehabilitation counseling with an emphasis on ethics and professional issues. Study includes the philosophical legislative, ethical and organizational foundations.
