Chuck Tarantino to join OGCA as assistant VP

Dear faculty and staff,

I am proud to announce that Chuck Tarantino accepted the position of Assistant Vice President for Grants and Contract Administration in the Office of Research and Innovation. He will begin serving UNT Monday, July 2.

In his role in the Office of Grants and Contract Administration (OGCA), Mr. Tarantino will work with faculty across campus to ensure that contracts and grants are processed smoothly from the grant application process to award administration to close-out and financial reporting. He will be focused on ensuring business becomes more efficient and effective for our research community by enhancing customer service between OGCA, campus colleges and departments, and faculty researchers.

Mr. Tarantino has served as the Assistant Controller of Research and Cost Accounting at Rice University since 2001, and he previously served as Director of Research Services at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Mr. Tarantino earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Chuck and his wife will be relocating to Denton. We are excited to have him on our team. If you see Chuck on campus next week, please take time to welcome him to our UNT community.
