Traffic around the UNT Coliseum will be busier than usual on Friday, Dec. 15, due to students moving out of residence halls for Winter Break and fall commencement ceremonies, which start at 9 a.m. and continue through the evening and all day Saturday.
Heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected along North Texas Boulevard. UNT faculty, staff and students should consider alternate travel routes for entering and leaving campus, such as Bonnie Brae Street, Fort Worth Drive and West Oak Street.
Three UNT Transportation Services shuttles will operate for commencement Friday and Saturday. One shuttle will travel along North Texas Boulevard, back and forth between the Coliseum and parking lots near West Hall. The other two shuttles will run east on Highland Street and west on Maple Avenue between Avenue D and Welch Street.
In addition, a Discovery Park shuttle with limited service will operate on Friday, Dec. 15.
UNT’s fall commencement starts with a 6 p.m. Honors College Medallion Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 14, and includes ceremonies on Friday and Saturday. See a complete list of fall ceremonies and times.
