Dear UNT community,

This year has no doubt been one of the most challenging in our 130-year history. But as always, the resilient, caring spirit of our Mean Green community has served as a beacon in these dark times, helping us to navigate uncharted territory and end the year with many reasons to celebrate.

We've defied national trends and increased enrollment, been named a Hispanic-Serving and Minority-Serving Institution, and seen 89 of our programs ranked among the nation's Top 100. Our campus has pulled together to fight for equity and inclusion, to support our students by giving to the UNT Cares fund and creating meal packages for those in need, and to ensure the continued health and safety of our community.

That's why the one thing I'm most thankful for each and every year is you - your unwavering support is what allows us to make UNT an outstanding, welcoming campus that everyone can proudly call home. I wish you a peaceful, healthy and rejuvenating holiday break, and I look forward to the change you will foster not only in 2021, but in all the years ahead.

UNT Proud,
Neal Smatresk
President
