Dear Students,

I am extending the Mandatory Testing Program due date to allow more time for tests and proof of vaccination records to be uploaded. You now have until Monday, Sept. 20, but no additional grace period will be provided. A high percentage of your fellow students have uploaded the required information. Please join them in complying with this mandatory program.

You also can opt out of testing if you are fully vaccinated by uploading your vaccination records or proof of a positive COVID-19 test result within the past 90 days here. Please test as soon as possible to avoid long wait times at on-campus locations.

As a reminder, even if you have not yet received confirmation, please DO NOT upload your test results or vaccination records again.

Please consider this your final warning, as students who fail to comply with the mandatory COVID-19 testing and reporting requirements will go through the Student Conduct Process. This may result in being considered a student not in good standing. Students who submit falsified vaccine records also will be sanctioned or reprimanded by the university. Falsifying a federal agency's documents could be considered a criminal offense.

If you have COVID symptoms, do not attend class, and take the following steps:

  • Let your instructors know that you have COVID symptoms and can't attend class until cleared by the Contact Tracing Team.
  • Get a COVID test immediately. Testing options on campus can be found here.
  • Email COVID@unt.edu to report your positive COVID test. The Contact Tracing Team will provide your next steps. Please include your student ID number in the email.

The Health Alerts website is UNT's source of COVID-19 safety information.

For 18 months, you have shown your care and commitment to keeping our community safe.  I implore you to continue those efforts. Now is not the time to waiver in our resolve to protect ourselves and those around us. I expect each of us to continue to play our part in seeing the way out of this pandemic and mandatory testing is a vital part of our overall strategy.

Stay safe,
Neal Smatresk
