Dear UNT community,
As you may have heard, UNT is updating its mission statement to ensure it reflects our promise and vision as a Carnegie-ranked top-tier research university.
A mission statement defines our core values, priorities and goals, giving everyone in our university community a set of guiding principles for how we educate and serve our students. You can read the current mission statement.
We have been gathering public input on what our next mission statement should be, and have received good feedback and ideas. We want to hear more ideas and explore the underlying questions that lead to a strong mission statement — such as our reason for being, who we serve, and how we add value to people’s lives and to our communities.
We want to hear from you. Please join us for these in-person sessions April 14 in University Union 381 to give input. The sessions are organized by constituent group to ensure we have a broad representation of members of the university community. Please fill out the web form in advance to let us know if you plan to attend so we can follow up as we move through the process.

These ideas will be compiled and synthesized so we can make recommendations to the President’s Cabinet later this spring.
